Write Up:
A tough, but fun hike. We started out going down hill for the first mile and a half and thought, this isnt too bad. And then we went uphill the rest of the way to the top of Lookoff Mountain to a beautiful view of the valley below. Then was the hike back, which meant we had an uphill on the way back, too. But before attacking that ascent, we stopped at Black Rock Lake and saved a box turtle from the middle of the road and reintroduced him back to the lake (but if he started there four days ago and was running away, we dont know). By the time we made it back to the trailhead, we were all beat, tired, and hungry, but felt like we overcame a huge challenge. To reward ourselves, we stopped for dinner and enjoyed some ice cold beverages and some much deserved food.
