Write Up:
Our day started with 10 hikers all ready for the weather. We hit the trail immediately hiking to a steep incline to Double Knob where we stopped to shed a layer and regroup. Then we were off to Chimney Top Mountain. Before our summit, we had a fantastic view of Young Harris, Ga to our right ( only viewed at winter). Once past Chimney Top, we were welcomed with high winds and thick fog setting the stage for the final summit! Our group then stopped and re- layered for the conditions that were ahead. Once we made it to our destination we took lunch ( The Chuck Wagon). After chow we turned our Wagons around back for the settlement of Young Harris. I think everyone deserves a gold medal for The Wagon Train Olympics. I'm gonna give a "that a girl" to Lisa S. and Alice E. for a big comeback on the hike Steve E. for the heavy pack and Ken S. for a full recovery from his past I njury. Chuck R. Wagon Team Leader!
