Could Fall actually be around the corner?  At the beginning of the hike, it sure felt like it!  Temps in the low 70's:) . What a group we have!  Today was extremely special.  It was Founders Day at Island Ford - no, I'm not really sure exactly what that is but it was special in that it required us to have everyone park at the Upper Parking Lot and not the Hewett Pond Parking Lot. (Consequently, we got to miss the warm up hill:) .)  But as our group is the best, we had no problems rounding up everyone before the magic 10:30 mark!  Ok, so what was special about today???  Shirley - 500 HIKE MILESTONE!!!  Young Jeff - 300 HIKE MILESTONE!!!  Jeff even combed his hair before hiking today knowing that pics would be taken.   Congrats to both of them. Totally awesome and Joyce had some beautiful rocks that she made for them.  I'm sure her pictures will reflect that. Yes, and we did get some good hiking in so once again, thanks for being part of our AOC family!  See you next week! ~ Carol
