It was a great week of wild flowers and chirping birds during our 90 miles on the AT in Georgia. Missed seeing the snakes and bears on other's hikes though.
We saw trillium, mayapples, iris, flaming azaleas, and bluets, blossoms throughout the week and even two days of nice lady slipper crops. An audible was
called to add 2 more days to the trip so we hiked for 9 consecutive days with no zeros. Made the trip easier and more enjoyable with a median speed of
2.3mph. As a result of the audible, I downgraded the trek to a D5. I had a full 11.5 pound pack for 4 of the days and went even lighter for the other 5 days.
The 4 "heavier" days were transport to the next hostel as we stayed at 4 places, each of them a bit different from the previous one.
