Itinerary:

Please join us for a Monday morning hike at the East Palisades section of Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA). We will meet in the INDIAN TRAIL parking lot near the trailhead.

East Palisades is one of the most beautiful and unique of all the CRNRA units. The Park has several miles of trails that offer excellent views of the Shoals, a bamboo forest and a large cave.  We will stop and enjoy the scenery along the way.

We will hike 5.0 to 6 miles including sections along the river, the back hills as well a few steep rugged areas, all at a moderate pace.

We consider this hike to be a HARD D2  and therefore not a hike for beginners.

Definition of a D2: Gentle to Moderate elevation gain 400-1,000 feet, moderate pace; generally 4-6 miles.

Hydration is a must with the summer heat and humidity. From a safety stand point, everyone must have liquids, no exceptions.

We'll start the hike PROMPTLY at 10:00am.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to get settled and for introductions.

CRNRA Daily Park Pass - $3 cash, if you don't have a National Park Pass.

Leave no valuables in your car or trunk since vandalism has been known to take place at this location.

TIP:  The Indian Trail NW street sign has been down, so you might want to use your GPS or check on a map beforehand. It's easy to drive by the street.

There are no restrooms at the park.
