This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Let's go walk around town and have dinner at Krog Street Market. Starting from the corner of 10th Street and Monroe Drive, we'll head south on the Eastside Beltline, detouring through Historic Fourth Ward Park before getting back on the Beltline. Then we'll continue heading south, walking past Krog Street Market to visit the Krog Street Tunnel to see the street art. Then we will walk back north to Krog Street Market and have dinner.

Krog has many different food options, so we can each buy dinner and then sit together to eat. Hopefully it won't be too crowded for us to find seats together. After dinner, we will walk back north on the Beltline, returning to our starting point.

You can check out the food options here: thekrogdistrict.com

This is an urban hike, so we will be walking on hard surfaces the entire way. We will be going at a faster than moderate pace before dinner and then a more moderate pace after we have filled our bellies. The group needs to stay together on this hike, so please make sure this pace works for you before registering. Also, we will be going up and down stairs in Fourth Ward Park, so this won’t be a totally flat hike.

Note that we will be changing our clocks during the night before this hike, so it will be darker than usual during our event time. Hopefully we will see some pretty lights along the way.

Please arrive early to make sure you can find parking and get to the meeting point before 4:30 because we will be starting the hike on time.

The distance and duration listed for this event are estimates.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

We will meet near the corner of 10th Street and Monroe Drive at the entrance to the Eastside Beltline. This is across the street from Park Tavern and the SE corner of Piedmont Park.

I am planning to park on the curb in front of the Virginia Highlands Apartment Homes at 609 Virginia Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30306. I'm not sure how crowded it will be on a Sunday afternoon, so I'll park farther from the park on Virginia Ave, if needed.

There is a paid parking lot next to the Park Tavern restaurant at the corner of 10th and Monroe, and there is other street parking available in the area. If you park on the street, be sure to check the signs and make sure parking is allowed there. Do not park at Trader Joe's or other businesses around because you can get booted, and that is expensive.
