Itinerary:
Beginning at the Byron Herbert Reece Parking lot, we'll climb to the top of Blood Mountain. We'll then take the Duncan Ridge Trail over to the Coosa, then down to where the Coosa and Bear Hair Gap Trail meet. The BHGT is a moderate 3.6 mile loop. I've never hiked it before so we'll discover it together. There's supposed to be an overlook of Vogel State Park which may provide us a good lunch spot. After lunch, we'll complete the loop and hike back the way we came. I'm estimating the hike is about 12 miles.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $48.10 (calculated at total miles (130) * $0.370, effective Wednesday, September 08, 2010). This is based on the current gas, maintenance, and other costs of $0.370 per mile as stated by the IRS & Cars.com. This should be divided by the total number of people in the vehicle (incl driver).
For example: With 4 people in the vehicle, the expense per person on this trip would be $12.03 Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
