The drive was a long one, but well worth it. Though the group was small, we had three new members on the hike - - Kristina, Rick, Edward - - and all three were well suited to the 12-mile hike. This is an extremely beautiful section of the North Carolina AT with the payoff being a 360 degree view from the fire tower atop Albert Mt. Lots of picture-worthy sights along the trail, with dinner at the Lazy Hiker Brewery in Franklin on the way home.  ~  Joyce
