Sat, Sep 16 2017 - Leita Thompson Mid-Morning Hike (View Original Event Details)
|
It was a beautiful day for a hike at Leita Thompson Park.
We had a full roster of 20 gung-ho and Irma-weary members on this hike. We met at the overflow parking lot and set off for the windy but easy trails that Leita Thompson offered. We did one loop, starting at the overflow parking, and at the end of the loop, we stopped at the Pavillion to admire the statuettes. At the Pavillion, we turned around to do a 2nd loop in the opposite direction we had come to give us a different perspective of the trail.
At the end of the 5.2 mile hike, several of us were ready to put the carbs we had burned off back on with an early lunch of soups, salads, and sandwiches at Panera Bread.
Thanks to Gayle for letting me co-lead with her. And thanks to the members for joining us on this hike. And lastly, welcome to new member Jennifer to the AOC!
