Sun, Sep 1 2019 - Early Labor Day Hike at Cochran Shoals - Interstate North (View Original Event Details)
|
Who would have expected that on the First Day of September we would have had perfect hiking weather? With everyone arriving early, which was good, the parking lot filled up fast, we were able to start the hike early and averaged about a 3 mile an hour pace. Finishing the event as posted with extra time some of us preceded along the sidewalk, across the Chattahoochee to Cochran Shoals – Powers Island. Must of the group had never been to this part of the Cochran Shoals NRA (National Recreation Area). This 1-mile loop provides a different view of the river and Powers Island than you see from the other side of the river.
A special thanks to those new members Sonya for her third hike, Harrison for his fourth hike, Becky for her firth hike, and George and Yvonne on joining us for their seventh hike. Thanks to the rest of the group for making them feel part of our club.
