Awesome day on the trail. What started as a simple Coosa Loop 13 mile counter clockwise hike, turned into a legit Triple Crown of 16 miles and 4500 ft elevation. Beautiful weather and an strong, adventurous group added a side trip to both Coosa Bald and Blood Mountain. In addition, the usual tough ascents of Coosa and Slaughter the group arrived at Slaughter Gap with enough energy left to take another tough climb to the top of Blood Mountain, the highest point on the AT in Georgia. Lots of fun and great views and Christa's toughest hike so far. She did great! Congrats to Chris, Ray, Laura M and Christa for being flexible and completing a very tough hike while keeping great spirits. It was a pleasure to lead this fantastic group!
