Meeting in the picnic area by the Visitor Center we talked about safety on the trails and the safe use of the tools. Split into three groups one group removed garlic mustard, while another group trashed the three social trails going between Kennesaw Mountain drive, the road going up the mountain to the upper parking lot, and fire road. After finishing these they worked on several areas that had trail creep. The third group headed to the area with a park bench that has a great view. Behind it hikes were cutting straight up the mountain that started as a social trail and had become one very large trail creep. This group added twelve new sections of fence four high and trashed out the area between the upper and lower areas of the fence. Upon finishing this they proceeded up the mountain working on two other social trails.
Thanks to all the hard-working volunteers we completely finished eleven out of thirteen projects and started the twelfth.
