We had a great group of 12 hikers for this morning's hike at Arabia Mountain. Mark was on his first AOC hike and Mat, Sean, and Ross all were starting out with less than 10 AOC events. Welcome to the AOC!

We enjoyed hiking through pine forest, hardwood forest, abandoned farm fields, moss-covered creek banks, and beautiful cascades, abandoned farm buildings before the sky opened. We got wet. Very wet. But we still saw interesting things, including frogs and armadillos. Yes, we saw four very small armadillos. Go figure. 

Thanks to the whole crew for being lighthearted about the drenching, which led to us shortening the route slightly to get us back sooner. Despite the rain, the trip was a success.
