Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue. This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Tiny Doors Hidden on the Beltline Make me happy Make me feel fine. Tiny Doors ATL is a "small artist cooperative that strives to bring wonder to tiny places". Tiny doors have been installed in various locations around Atlanta in hopes that the doors "evoke unexpected possibility and chance discovery". Join us as we embark on an urban hike to experience five of the six doors.* We'll meet at the public parking lot at Krog Street Market, circle up for introductions and then take off on our quest for the tiny doors. We'll walk to the Krog Street Tunnel to discover the first door. Then we'll hop on the beltline and down a few side streets to find door number two. From there we'll pick up the PATH that meanders through Freedom Park, discover door number three, and jump back on the beltline where doors number four and five are waiting for us. After locating all the tiny doors, we'll continue along the beltline to Monroe Drive, where we'll turn around and return to Krog Street Market. This is not a beginner hike. Although part of the hike is on the beltline, we also detour onto hilly side streets with uneven terrain, broken sidewalks with roots and loose gravel, also some possible bushwhacking through undergrowth. We'll be out in the heat for three hours. Afterwards, feel free to join us for lunch (optional) at Krog Street Market. http://www.krogstreetmarket.com/ More information about the doors can be found at http://www.tinydoorsatl.com/ * The sixth door is too far off the beaten path for this hike. A seventh door is being unveiled on May 30th. Depending on the location (not yet disclosed) of this door, we may slightly alter the route to find the new door. This may increase the pace, distance and/or duration of the hike. Please be prepared to hike potentially up to 9 miles.
