Itinerary:

Let's start the weekend off right with a sunset stroll on the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway!

A greenway is a linear park, for recreation and alternative transportation, with open spaces for people as well as natural areas for plants and animals. The Big Creek Greenway is primarily a 12-foot wide concrete path that meanders through the deciduous woods along Big Creek in Alpharetta. The greenway offers an ideal setting for walking, jogging, roller blading, and biking.

We will meet in the parking lot of Jekyll Brewing Company. From there, we will cross the street and get on the Greenway. We will walk south a mile and a half before turning around and walking back to our starting point. We'll be on the lookout for deer, heron, turtles, rabbits, and wild turkeys that are often near the trail at dusk.

Optional: After returning to the parking lot, the trip leaders will walk inside Jekyll Brewing Company for a brewery tour and tasting. Learn how beer is made, and sample the varieties that Jekyll has to offer. There are fun games to play such as giant Jenga with wheel of fortune challenges, and there is usually live music on Saturdays. Everyone is welcome to join us.
