Monday Morning @ Sope Creek (Beginners Welcome)

There's a lot of see at Sope Creek, so our Monday hike this week we are headed to out to see all they have to offer at this park.  We'll make a pass by the lake and of course want to circle down to see the ruins.  Come join me for this weeks adventure!

There is a $3 daily parking fee payable by cash or check at the Sope Creek parking lot unless you already have a season pass.

If you bring a dog, park rules say that they must be on a leash.

Sope Creek Parking Lot (Paper Mill Road)

Directions: Take Interstate 75 North out of Atlanta to Windy Hill Road (exit 260). Turn right on Windy Hill Road, and then left on Powers Ferry Road. At the intersection of Powers Ferry and Terrell Mill Road, take a right on Terrell Mill. Take a right on Paper Mill Road; the park entrance is approximately 1 mile further on Paper Mill Road on the right.

From Johnson Ferry Road, cross the river going North; turn left at the light at the Powers Road intersection, this helps to avoid afternoon traffic on Paper Mill. Then turn left at the four way stop onto Woodlawn Drive. Follow it until it dead ends into Paper Mill and turn to the right.  Stay on Paper Mill as it winds along to the Sope Creek bridge.  Once you cross the bridge, be alert for the Sope Creek sign on your left, about 1/4 mile from the bridge.

If you're traveling south on Johnson Ferry Road, turn right at Powers Road and proceed according to the directions above.
