Note: This is a 7 mile hike with a target pace of 4 mph.

 

We'll be on Day Light Savings Time, no need for a headlamp!!!

We'll start, at 6:00 PM sharp, at Suwanee Creek Park (the southern terminus of the Suwanee Creek Greenway), 1170 Buford Highway.  Plan to meet at the pavilion near the end of the parking lot.  The elevation change is minimal, but this is a fitness hike so the pace will be fast.  If you prefer a leisurely walk this may not be for you.  We’ll go north on the trail past McGinnis Ferry Road, Martin Farm Road, and Lawrenceville Suwanee Road, to Suwanee Elementary School.  At that point we’ll turn around and retrace our steps to Suwanee Creek Park.  We will make occasional stops, as needed, to regroup.  The trail is a combination of paved trail and boardwak, so footing will not be a problem.

Event Directions:

From I-85 North take Exit 109 - Old Peachtree Road.

Turn left onto Old Peachtree Road NW  (right from I-85 South)

Trun Right onto Scales Road

Turn Right onto Buford Highway

Suwanee Creek Park will be on your right - 1170 Bufor Highway, Suwanee, GA

Take the first right inside the park.  Follow the road to the pavillion near the end of the parking lot.
