Itinerary:

Please join Erica and me for an endurance hike over Kennesaw montains.  We will hike a standart Kennesaw loop almost twice.  The total distance will be 10 miles.  Take this chance and try a D5 hike - you can do it!

We will start our hike at the Visitor Center.  This hike will be up and over Big and Little Kennesaw Mountains to Burnt Hickory Road, and returning the same way.  This is a standart 6-miles loop, and we will do it for 2.5 hours.  Immeduately after that we will hike up to Big and Little Kennesaw Mountain second time to the 2-mile mark, and come back to the parking lot.  This additional loop is 4 miles.

How to find the 2-mile mark:  you are descending from the top of Little Kennesaw Mountain toward Burnt Hickory Rd., passing the French Rock mark.  When you will see a wooden fence around the trail, look at your right.  Soon you will see the mark.

Everybody goes with their own speed.  If you are a fast hiker, you can choose to go with Erica, and if you are a slow one - you can go with me if you want to.

If you are a fast hiker, you can do double Kennesaw.

We'll meet at the Visitor Center.

The hike will start promptly at 8.30 am, so please plan on arriving prior to the start time to park your car and introduce yourself.  Allow at least 10 minutes to walk from the new parking lot to the visitors center in the event in case if the main parking lot is full.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

1) I-75 North to exit 267B Hwy 5 Canton Road Connector

2) If you are not heading west after getting off of the Interstate you are going the wrong way.  You should be heading towards US 41 and downtown Marietta after getting off of I-75 onto the Canton Road Connector and see Kennesaw Mountain on your right.

3) You will be tempted to take the first exit off of the Canton Road Connector which is US 41, but do not take it.  Proceed over US 41 on a bridge staying on the Canton Road Connector.

4) After crossing US 41 take a right at the first redlight which is Church Street Extension.

5) You should cross railroad tracks soon.

6) Take a left onto Old 41 at the second redlight.  If you get to US 41 again, you have missed the turn onto Old 41 so turn around.

7) Stay on Old US 41 until you pass in front of the mountain then turn left at the redlight and park in the main visitor center lot if you can.  If full head back out to Old 41, take a left and park in the overflow parking lot farther down the road on the left.
