Itinerary:
Moderate difficulty, but with a couple of challenging hills; moderate pace _ have reviewed prior postings and found both D2 and D3 stated for this hike.  Since I have not been there before I wasn't sure which to post.  In any case the pace will slow on the hills and we'll just take it easy.  Hope to complete hike in 2 1/2 hours although may go a bit over on time.

Our hike is comprised of two loops, east and west.  This 4.5 mile trail winds up and down through mixed hardwood and pine forests that make up these 240 acres of Green space.

From the parking lot, we’ll start with a nice, mostly flat, approach trail.  From there, we’ll take the west loop up into the hills.  There will be hills!  Where the west and east loops intersect we’ll take the east loop.  From there, we’ll make a very short detour to the site of a former CCC quarry.  We’ll return to the east trail, pick up the west loop again, and make our way back to the parking lot.

Although some of the terrain is rugged there is only one significant climb, with an elevation gain of about 420 feet.  Depending on the weather, hikers can view Pine Log Mountain - one of the highest elevations in Bartow County's Appalachian foothills - and the site of the Pine Log Cherokee Indian Village.
