Itinerary: | |||||||
In commemoration of the Martin Luth King, Jr. holiday, we will hike between two centers of Georgia's icons via the beautiful Freedom Parkway Trail and its adjoining urban walkways. Jimmy Carter, former governor of Georgia and United States President has worked hard for the poor around the world. The hike will begin at the Jimmy Carter Center. We will walk around the grounds exploring. We will then hike 1.2 miles to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center. Martin Luther King Jr. was a key figure in eliminating segregation in America. We will hike around the King center and surrounding area, stopping to pay tribute the civil rights leader and taking pictures as we like. We will hike 1.2 miles and return to the cars from here. The hike will have gentle inclines and declines. The surface will be asphalt. There will be some big oak trees along the way for shade. We will meet at the circle with 51 flags from around the world in front of the center. We will begin the hike at 5 pm. | |||||||
