Itinerary: | |||||||
Please join us for a beautiful morning hike at Sawnee Mountain Preserve. We will begin our hike at the Visitors Center on Spot Road and make our way clockwise to the Indian Seats and observation deck passing the north gold mine shaft. For those of you that have never hiked Sawnee you are in for a real treat because the view from the top has gorgeous views of the North Georgia Mountains. After a short visit on the observation deck we will make our way back down passing the 2nd gold mine shaft. We will be hiking at a moderate but steady pace. If you have hiked D2s in the past and are ready for elevation this is the hike for you. If you are looking for a faster fitness hike then this is not the hike for you. Please arrive a few minutes early to use the restroom and do our introductions as we will be leaving on time. Dogs are not allowed on these trails. NOTE..... there are 2 parking lots. Spot Road and Bettis Tribble Gap. We are meeting at the Spot Road location. 4075 Spot Road For a zoomable map, please click on the blue and green square "event location" icon at the top of this page. | |||||||
