Itinerary:

Decatur is ranked #1 as the most walkable city in Georgia with its 60 miles of sidewalks. Let's explore 5 miles of it in the heart of the city by visiting the Square, the community park and the historic cemetery.

Please arrive a few minutes early for checking in, introductions and bio breaks, so we can leave promptly at 6:00. 

We'll begin our hike by the pool inside Glenlake Park. The park has about a mile of trails, which we'll explore before walking over to the cemetery, where some famous local figures rest. We'll walk around the cemetery for a while before exiting it to walk a block over to the square. We'll explore the area for a couple of miles, with a little time to visit a snack and/or gift shop before heading back to the park.

There should be plenty of parking inside the park itself. However, if it's full, you can also park in the designated spaces along Church Street and walk in.

Parking options:

On Church Street, look for the allocated street parking spots. (You can park here if you want.)

or

Look for the small "Glenlake Park" sign and turn in. (The parking lot shouldn't be full since the pool is closed this time of year.)

We will meet in front of the pool.
