Itinerary: | |||||||
We will start at the Byron Herbert Reese Trail, near Neels Gap...hike to the AT and go up over Blood Mtn and down to the Jarrad Gap trail. This will take us down to Lake Winfield Scott for a lunch break, and to hike the little .6 mile trail around the lake. Then it is back to the AT via the Slaugher Creek Trail and over Blood Mtn, and back to our cars.
Mileage Breakdown- The pace on this hike will be very moderate...it will be a D5 just due to the distance and total ascent, but we aren't going to be speed hiking it. I'd say it will take us about 6-7 hrs including breaks. PLEASE NOTE:
