Itinerary:

This trail is named after one of several homesteads which were once located along it. It begins at the front porch of the Visitor Center and crosses some of the most beautiful portions of the park, including part of the shore of Lake Allatoona. It is a 5.5 mile loop, and the surface is compacted soil.

How to Get There:

Drive North from Atlanta on I 75 to exit #285 and take a right. Proceed around 3.5 miles to Lake Allatoona and cross the bridge. Continue straight on Red Top Mountai Road and drive a short distance. The park office is on the left side of Red Top Mountain Road, a few yards after passing the beginning of Marina Road to your left. 
IMPORTANT: This trailhead IS NOT at 50 Lodge Rd. Do not follow Google Maps or similar web based directions otherwise you will end up at the Visitor's Center, which is the wrong place.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $12.80 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

The park office is temporarily closed, so there will be no cold drinks available at this place.
