Itinerary: | |||||||
Easy does it at Sawnee - not a fast hike. Great for those that have done D2 hikes and are ready to try their first D3. There are hills but we will take them slow and easy. Great views from the Indian Seats. We will meet at the parking lot at 2505 Bettis Tribble Gap Road (the new side). Hike about 5 1/2 miles and then cross the road to hike up to the Indian Seats. Please arrive a few minutes early to use the restroom and do our introductions as we will be leaving on time. Dogs are not allowed on these trails. (if you go to the wrong parking lot just cross Bettis Tribble Gap Road and we'll be on the other side) Rated as a D3 due to elevation and distance BUT this is not a fast hike, not a fitness hike, just slow and steady. If you are looking to race up and down the hills at Sawnee this is NOT the hike for you. | |||||||
