Itinerary: | |||||||
We will be meeting at the Indian Trail entrance NOT Whitewater Creek. You can enter "east palisades trailhead indian trail rd" in google maps for directions. This unit of the Chattahoochee River offers a taste of rugged beauty from high, heavily wooded ridges above the water to sandy, lushly carpeted floodplains lines with ferns, willows, and bamboo. This will be the standard counter-clockwise loop of east palisades. We will be visiting the rock overlook, bamboo forest, deck overlook, dog beach, river trail, as well going up the Big Awesome Hill (BAH). Don't let this scare you off, we'll go at a slow pace up the BAH. This is a good introduction for those who have not been to east palisades before. Dogs are welcome and must be leashed. Dogs do not have to be an AOC member or be 21 years of age.
