Itinerary:

I love swinging bridges!

At 270 feet, the Toccoa River Swinging Bridge is the longest swinging bridge east of the Mississippi, so you know I need to go there!

This strenuous hike will follow the BMT from the bridge all the way to the intersection of the AT. A quick side trail will take us to Long Creek Falls and the opportunity for lunch and a quick swim in this popular swimming hole. We will retrace our steps to complete our out and back adventure.

I will be maintaining a pace on the quick side of moderate, combined with over 17 miles and 4200 feet of ascent, this hike is not for the timid. Recent D5/D6 experience is a requirement for this adventure.
