Join us for a full day of hiking, swimming and exploring, as we head to the far northeast corner of the state to some of the best waterfalls and swimming holes that GA has to offer...

Singley's Falls

We will start out from the GA28 trailhead, and our first stop will be at Singley's Falls, a 25' beauty with a large swimming hole at its base.

After a long break here, we will proceed to Three Forks, so named for the confluence of Overflow, Holcomb, and Big Creeks that combine to form the West Fork of the Chattooga River. Plan on a long and leisurely (approx. 90 min) break here for lots of swimming and exploring. There are some relaxing rock jacuzzis to soak in...and you can travel a short ways up Holcomb Creek to a beautiful hidden gorge with numerous little falls...very magical and looks like something out of a movie set.

Expect total hiking time of about 3-4 hrs and probably around 2+ hrs at the two waterfall areas. The pace will be moderate (2.2 to 2.5 mph), and the total distance 8.5 miles with about 1900' of total ascent...no big mountains to climb but some short steep sections. The hike involves some light to moderate scrambling in a couple of spots, so be sure you are comfortable with that.

On the drive back, each car can decide if they would like to stop for dinner in Clayton, however we plan to do so. It will be a full day, but well worth it to fully experience one of the most beautiful areas in the state, if not the entire Southeast.

- Change of clothes for the ride home

From Clayton, GA, head east on Warwoman Road for 14 miles until its end at Highway 28. Turn left (north) and follow Hwy 28 4.4 miles to the trailhead on the left side of the road (just 1.3 miles south of the NC border).

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $85.20 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:

- Up to 2 dogs are permitted on this event, but owners must drive themselves (of course others can ride with you if they wish).

- Hikers allergic to wasp or bee stings are responsible for bringing their own EpiPen.
