Leita Thompson Memorial Park (Beginners Welcome)

Because of a glitch in the registration process, we've run into the problem of having too many members added to the active list above the maximum limit of 20.  Please be aware that we will be moving members above 20 registrants to the waiting list in the order of their registration times.  People will then be added to the active list as we have withdrawals.

Join us for easy hike while enjoying talking with friends, meeting new friends, and walking at a moderate pace.

The Leita Thompson Memorial is a very pretty trail located in Roswell, GA. It's made of soft, small gravel and plenty wide to walk side by side. It's very wooded and clean and has a few nice little hills.

There are no bathrooms, but there are three sets of porta potties throughout the park. And - - of course - - there are plenty of trees.

We will start on time, so please arrive a few minutes early to check in.  We'll park in the overflow lot, which is near the art building next to the dog park.  It's a big lot, with plenty of room for our cars.  If you park at the small pavilion lot, you can walk through to the overflow lot to join the group.

It's best to use maps.google.com and map directions from your destination. You can go to maps.google.com and enter the bold text below in to the search bar. If you chose Satelite View, you can see a birdseye view of the parking lot.

There is a green roofed pavillion very close to Woodstock Rd. You can see it easily from the road and it says "Leita Thompson Pavillion." There is a road on the East side of that and it leads directly to the parking lot.  

You may want to (or need to) park in the overflow parking lot that can be accessed from the main lot if the main lot is full.  It's only 1/8 of a mile down a shaded road.
