Itinerary:

Trena and I continue to split our Monday morning group to accommodate more members eager to hike.  My hike will be starting at Sope Creek Elementary School.  We'll gather at the far left side of the parking lot, the area closest to the trailhead.

 I will be moving members above 10 registrants to the waiting list in the order of their registration times.  People will then be added to the active list as there are withdrawals.    

We'll hike for 2 hours, getting in around 4.5 miles.  Our route will depend somewhat upon our registrants;  if there are new folks who haven't seen the ruins, we'll hike there;  otherwise, we'll choose other routes.

If you bring your dog, it should be able to keep up with the group and interact well with other dogs and people. The Chattahoochee NRA requires that owners keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after their pets on the trails. Please be willing to keep your dog on leash out of consideration to other hikers, because it's the law and because the reputation of the AOC is damaged when members break the leash law.

Limit of 3 dogs, please!

The Sope Creek Elementary School parking lot is on Papermill Road, about 1/4 mile from Sope Creek parking lot.  If you're coming from Johnson Ferry Road, so about 1/2 mile past the Sope Creek bridge, to Sope Creek Elementary School on your left. If you're coming from I-75 on Papermill, it will be on your right at the traffic light at Shadowlawn Road.   When you turn into the school parking lot, go to the large lot on your left and park all the way at the end.
