Monday Morning at Leita Thompson Memorial Park

While the AOC groups are limited to 10 people, Trena and I are splitting our Monday hikes to accommodate more members.  This week I'll be doing my Monday morning hike at Leita Thompson, a very beautiful trail in Roswell.   If the web site registers more than 10 members, I will move all members above the limit to the waiting list.  Members will be added in the order of their registration times.

Leita Thompson Memorial is a wide, well-shaded trail of soft gravel.  There are rolling hills that can provide a good workout at a moderately fast pace (which we will maintain).

There are no bathrooms, but there are three sets of porta potties throughout the park. And - - of course - - there are plenty of trees.

Please arrive a few minutes before the hike is scheduled to start to check in.  I will start on time, so please arrive a few minutes early to check in and meet your fellow members.

There are three parking lots in the area:  one for the dog park, the second for the arts center  and overflow lot, and the third for the pavillion lot.  We will be parking in the second lot, to the left of the arts center.

From Atlanta take GA-400 N to exit 7B W/Holcomb Bridge Rd in Roswell. Continue west on Holcomb Bridge Rd for 5.7 miles. On your right you will pass Chick-fil-a and Mountain Park Rd. Take the next right. This is the entrance for the dog park and Art Center West.  Make an immediate left for the gravel overflow parking lot 

If you pass this entrance, you will come to the main Leita Thompson entrance at the pavilion.  You can turn in here and then take an immediate right up the gravel path to the overflow lot.  Drive up the gravel road through the woods and park at the top of the hill.
