Itinerary:

Please join me for a hike at Cochran Mill Park.  The park is in the City of Chattahoochee Hills and it's used by hikers, horses, bikes.  I have been there a couple times before on a weekend and did not encounter any bikes or horses but just be aware that we may have to share the trail at times.   There are a couple of water falls and very scenic spots along Bear Creek which runs through the park.   We will spend time on the yellow, red and orange trails - not much elevation at Cochran Mill Park.

I am hoping to get in a 10 mile hike although may be over/under on time or mileage due to the exploratory nature of the hike.  I have not explored ALL the trails here, and there are many, but I love exploring and finding new hiking spots and hope you all can join me. Rufus and Ann (long time AOC members) are familiar with the trails and will help me if I lose my way.

Please bring plenty of water, snack/lunch - we will take a few brief water breaks 

  COVID-19 - please be respectful to AOC members and other hikers on the trails - keep social distance at least six feet between yourself and your fellow hikers.  Please be advised that attendees of AOC events should have face coverings on their person, in the event  they are unable to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet.

There is a $5.00 fee per car for parking - pass can be purchased at the park.

There are restrooms at the parking area

FROM ATLANTA to COCHRAN MILL PARK:


1. Take I- 85 Southward past Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Int'l Airport and get off at Exit #69, "Old National/South Fulton Parkway." (This I-85 exit is about 15 miles south of downtown Atlanta and 2 miles beyond the Airport exit. It adjoins the big I- 85/I-285 interchange on the SW side of town.)


2. Take the 3-mile-long exit connector westward onto South Fulton Pkwy, and follow it about 13 more miles to Cochran Mill Road.


3. Turn Right onto Cochran Mill Road and go about 1/4 mile to the Cochran Mill park on your left.
