GREAT BLUE HERON - photo by Norm Melton - AOC hiker Please join me at East Palisades for an early Saturday hike. Beautiful park - going at a slower than normal pace to enjoy and not rush through it. We will be hiking approximateily 5 miles at a moderate pace (not super fast and maybe a bit slower than my normal pace). I have not been hiking for about a month, derailed by Covid, but back and ready to hike. The Bamboo Forest is a must see for anyone that has not been to this park. Spectacular views of the Chattahoochee River and surrounding area. There are no restrooms at this location See directions to the trailhead at 1425 Indian Trail NW - the road leading to the parking lot is very narrow - go very slow as there may be cars traveling in the opposite direction. $5.00 daily parking fee unless you have an annual pass for the CRNRA parks. Pass can be purchased at the Kiosk in the parking lot - scan a code with your phone and pay electroncially. or prior to hike go to this website and purchase a daily or annual pass https://www.nps.go v/chat/planyourvisit/fees.htm
COVID-19 - please be respectful to AOC members and other hikers on the trails - keep social distance at least six feet between yourself and your fellow hikers. Please be advised that attendees of AOC events should have face coverings on their person, in the event they are unable to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet. | |||||||
