Itinerary:

Let's hike at a seldom used location for this Monday morning hike.  The Etowah Trail at Boling Park has a complex network of trails that can become very confusing!  We'll try to keep it simple and stay on the White Trail with a loop around the Green Trail, covering about 6 miles through heavily wooded forest.   We'll keep a moderate pace, with an extra half hour built into the hike so that we don't have to rush. 

Porta Johns are at the parking lot.

Please follow the directions and don't be afraid to keep driving down the entrance road until you just can't drive any further.  That's where we'll be meeting.

Poles are highly recommended, especially when the trails are wet.  There are several short wooden bridges to cross, so good tread on your boots can help prevent slipping.

Boling Park

1200 Marietta Hwy, Canton, GA 30114

Get on 575 going North

Near Canton take Exit 16 and merge left onto GA-140/GA-20 W/GA-5 Bus toward GA-5 Bus North.

You are going to come to a stop light at Williamson Brothers Barbeque in about a mile. This is GA-5 (Marietta Highway). Take a right onto GA-5 and go less than a half mile.  Cross over the Etowah River Bridge and take an immediate left into Boling Park. (Sign in front of the park.)

Do not pass Cherokee High School. If you do, turn around.

Once you turn into the Boling Park entrance, drive all the way to the back back behind Cherokee High School parking lot to the pavilion on your left,  where there are porta-johns.
