Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue. This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.
Itinerary: | |||||||
This event is in the Central timezone, all times listed are in EASTERN! Join me as I continue south down the Pinhoti Trail in the Talladega National Forest. We will be parking at the same lot that was enjoyed for Pinhoti Section #8. This will be a fun, fast, rolling hill hike with typical Pinhoti rocks, creeks and views. This will be a great change of pace hike and quite different from the typical North Georgia hikes. Expect a FAST, pleasant hike with great company and plenty of laughs. Our turn around and lunch spot is near a large creek that will look familiar to those who joined my Cheaha Part II hike in February. Whenever I hike the Pinhoti I bring along some water shoes...There will likely be a few creek crossings, but I am unsure if we will be able to rock-hop across. This is a long, fast, D5 hike, only experienced hikers will be able to join the fun.
