Itinerary:

Lets take a nice afternoon walk on a combination of sidewalk and easy woods.  This event is designed for folks who want to walk at a comfortable pace and enjoy some friendly conversation;  it is NOT appropriate for speed walkers.  If you can't slow your pace to stay with the group, this is NOT the event for you!

The plan is to walk along Roswell's Riverwalk path.  The terrain is partly paved and some loose gravel but all flat.  We'll head toward Don White Park, pass it, and head into the woods on Riverside Road. Once we hit 2 miles we'll turn around and head back the way we came. 

There is said to be an ancient Indian burial mound on this trail.  There is definitely a mound, and now it even has a trail across it.  (Is this like walking on graves?) We'll pass it on our walk.

Part of this walk is in sun so if you are sun sensitive please bring a hat and use sunscreen. 

We will meet  in front of the bathrooms at Riverside Park.  Parking is free.

Hiking poles aren't necessary, since the trails are flat and part of our walk will be on sidewalks.

From Northbound U.S. 19/Ga. 400
Take exit 6 for Northridge Road 
Stay RIGHT onto Northridge Road crossing bridge 
Take first RIGHT onto Dunwoody Place, go 1.3 miles 
Turn RIGHT at Ga. 9 (Roswell Road), go 0.6 miles 
Cross river turn RIGHT onto Riverside Road, cross the bridge and the park is on the right. 

From Southbound U.S. 19/Ga. 400
Take exit 7 for Ga. 140 (Holcomb Bridge Road) 
Turn RIGHT onto Ga. 140 East (Holcomb Bridge Road), go 0.2 mile 
Turn LEFT at Dogwood Road, go 1.0 miles 
Continue STRAIGHT on Riverside Road, go 1.0 mile 
Turn LEFT at park entrance - - just before crossing the bridge at Atlanta Road.
