Parking is free. Hide your valuables due to break ins! We will meet by the covered bridge at 9:50 AM for introductions and start promptly at 10 AM. There are bathrooms available here. The Vickery Creek trail system includes the historic remains of Roswell Mill, a wooden covered pedestrian bridge and two different waterfalls. Vickery Creek is named after a Cherokee woman who lived in Roswell and owned much of the land around the creek. It was originally called Cedar Creek and was renamed in 1834. We will cover approximately 5 miles at a moderate pace between 2.5-2.75 mph with a couple of stops for water breaks. Due to erosion there are many exposed roots so it is a challenging hike for beginners. Poles are strongly recommended. | |||||||
