Itinerary:

We will walk on the flat gravel path along the Chattahoochee River until we get to the Columns Drive trailhead. Then we will go into the woods and follow the trails, eventually working our way back to the starting point. We will sometimes be on trails that allow mountain bikes, but while in the woods we will mostly be on hiking-only trails.

The terrain is a mixture of gravel paths and areas with roots and rocks. There are a couple of good hills to climb, but other than those, the elevation changes are not too strenuous. Our pace will be on the faster side of moderate in order to complete about 6 miles.

We will meet at the trailhead at the north end of the Cochran Shoals parking lot. Please arrive 10 minutes early for socializing and introductions because we will be starting the hike on time.

There are bathrooms at this trailhead and at the Columns Drive trailhead that we will pass a little later in the hike.

Please note that CRNRA locations require a $5 Daily Pass or a $40 Annual Pass, which can be purchased via your phone in the parking lot or online. America the Beautiful National Parks Passes also can be used at CRNRA parks.
