Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Let's go explore Piedmont Park. We will walk around the Meadow, Lake Clara Meer, Oak Hill, the Active Oval, the Mayor's Grove, Six Springs Wetlands, the Promenade, and more. I didn't even know the names of most of these areas of the park until I looked at the website. https://piedmontpark.org/

We will peek through the fence at the beautiful Atlanta Botanical Garden, and we may also walk on the unfinished part of the beltline adjacent to the park, depending on time.

We will have a mix of sun and shade, so I would recommend wearing sunscreen and bringing a hat.

I've been to the park many times but haven't explored it in this way, so that's why this is marked as exploratory. The time and distance are an estimate, but we will be close.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes early for socializing and introductions because we will be starting on time.

There are no bathrooms where we are parking, but there are some in the park.

We will meet on Virginia Avenue near the SE corner of the park. We will all be able to find free street parking there on a weekday morning. Park on the curb in front of the Virginia Highlands Apartment Homes at 609 Virginia Avenue. We will meet there and walk to the park together.
