Itinerary:

Island Ford is one of the nicest hikes along the Chattahoochee, it also was one of my favorit local place to hike before I joined AOC.  We will hike 5.5 to 6 miles on several trails down to the river and back again.  There will be a few hills, but nothing too strenuous.  We will cover most of trails including the Sandy Springs lollipop trail adjacent to Roberts Road down to the river Canoe ramp area and back.

We will meet at the first parking lot to the left at beginning of the park. If you do not have an annual CRNRA parking pass, you will need to purchase the $5 daily parking pass at their Web site  CRNRA Parks. You may also purchase an annual pass for $40.00 online or download their app to purchase.

For a map of the park, Island-Ford-North-Map.pdf (npplan.com)   Note this is not a hike for beginners due to the heat and the pace.
