Itinerary:

This will be a moderately paced hike from Riverside Park to the end of the boardwalk at Willeo Rd. It's longer than some of the boardwalk hikes that stop at the Chattahoochee Nature Center - - just a couple of miles longer.   We'll start at Riverside Park where there's plenty of free parking and restrooms. Since this is an out-and-back route, if you get tired and need to stop and rest, we'll be coming back the same way and can pick you up on the return trek. If you can't slow down your pace, please skip this event and let others who need a slower pace have your spot. This is a good event for beginners who can walk 6 miles!  No hills, easy footing (no roots or rocks), and a moderate pace.

The boardwalk offers great views of the Chattahoochee plus opportunities to see water fowl, turtles,  and other wildlife.  We'll take time to enjoy the scenery.

If you want to get your heart rate up and work up a sweat, this is definitely not an event for you.  This is just a chance to get some fresh air, meet some interesting AOC folks, and work off some calories for a nice Friday night dinner.

We'll start on time, so please arrive by 12:50 pm so that we can make introductions and take a group icture.  Poles aren't needed, but comfortable walking shoes are!
