Itinerary:

Please join me on a hike starting at the Indian Trail entrance to East Palisades CRNRA.  We willl have beautiful river views and visit the bamboo forest.  We will go at an easy to moderate pace. The total elevation is about 505 feet.  Please be aware that there is at least one trail that requires difficult footing on rocks on the side of a cliff. Parts of the route can also be rocky, rooty, slippery and muddy. While we will go slowly on these difficult areas, they are still hazardous.  So, needless to say, this is not a hike for beginners or for those with unsure footing

Another thing to be aware of is that the Indian Trail gravel road to the parking lot is narrow, uneven, and has potholes.  There are times when one car has to back up to a wider spot when another car is coming from the opposite direction. Go very slowly and pull over to the side if necessary.  There should be enough parking on a weekday but if you cannot find a parking space call me at 4044088833 and I will find a solution.  (Parking is allowed on the residential street of Indian Trail on weekdays where signs say "no parking on weekends.")

We will leave promptly at 9:45am so please arrive at least 10 minutes early for introductions and to buy a parking pass if necessary.

You will need to have a park pass on your car.  If you don't already have an annual pass, five dollar park passes can be purchased i n advance online at  https://www.nps.gov/c hat/planyourvisit/fees.htm .  Annual passes ($40) are highly recommended if you plan to hike throughout the year.

You can also use a smart phone to buy a pass at a kiosk in the parking lot.

No bathrooms are available at this location.
