Itinerary:

We will be hiking the Bear Hair Gap Trail (counter clockwise) and then continue on the BHGT until we connect with the Coosa Backcountry Trail, then we have a short steep gain to the Duncan Ridge Trail up to the AT to Blood Mountain, then retrace our steps back to Coosa and finish at Vogel State Park.

The BHGT has some water crossing, rock hopping usually works, and given the dryness lately, I'll bet on rock hopping.

Total distance 9 miles with an elevation gain of 2410 feet.  This is a moderate paced hike, if you want to go faster, then this hike is not for you.  Pace is around 2.2 mph overall.

This is the high end of a D4, nearly a D5; so if you've not got strong D4 experience or D5, please send the trip leader your most recent hike (distance, duration, elevation gain); if we don't hear from you, I will move you to the waitlist.
