Itinerary:

I have really been enjoying exploring the Pinhoti Trail in Alabama and Georgia. This is the third hike in a series of "Greatest Hits of the Pinhoti". Only the best sections of trail make the cut and this one certainly did!

Part I  : Bear Creek

Part II : Snake Creek Gap to Pilchers Pond and Keown Falls

Part III : Border Wars!

Part IV : Crazy Chocolate

Part V  : For me to know and you to find out

Part VI : Hint - I will tell you later...

Crazy Chocolate

Join me as I continue my trek down the Talladega National Forest on the Pinhoti Trail. This trail is in the Central timezone, but all times listed are in the EASTERN timezone.

Choccolocco Creek... What can it mean except CRAZY CHOCOLATE? You have to be crazy to not like chocolate!

This section of the Pinhoti doesn't have any big climbs, but we will be along the creek and go next to a lake and move quickly through this section of the Talladega National Forest. We will be crossing the creek at least three times and I expect to be able to rock hop and tree walk across, but I would recommend water shoes just in case.

This is a great section of typical Talladega trekking, a greatest hit hike if there ever was one.

This is a long D5 hike and we will be averaging over 3 mph on this trek, recent D5 experience is required to join the fun.
