Mason Mill/Lullwater/Hahn Woods

Yes, this is a D2, but it's not a beginner's hike. Some sections of the trail are narrow and gnarly and on steep slopes. In a nutshell, it's not a simple urban hike on the boardwalk.

 Let's enjoy a morning ramble through Mason Mill and Lullwater Parks and Hahn Woods.  We start in Mason Mill Park including sections that are steep, rough and narrow. Then we’ll connect with the South Peachtree Creek path which we’ll take to Lullwater and then Hahn Woods which also has some rough sections. From Hahn Woods we will backtrack, take the loop past the Candler mansion (now the home of the Emory president), then rejoin the Peachtree Creek Trail to return to our starting point. While we will be on the boardwalk for part of the hike, most of it will be on the woodland trails with the aforementioned steep slopes and gnarly sections. As stated above, there are some steep slopes with rocks, roots and gravel, which adds a little adventure to those steep slopes. This is not a fast or training hike; we will maintain an average speed of 2.6 to 2.8 mph, faster on the paved and smooth sections and slower on the roughest segments.

 We will meet in Mason Mill Park by the restrooms and playground. Please arrive early by 7:50 to allow time for a restroom stop and mingling.
