Get Lit Dec 15th! Light Christmas Hike Around Berkeley Lake - 6:30 PM Start

Ho ho ho! Grab your mug of hot chocolate and holiday spirit, and join us for this festive evening urban hike to check out the Christmas lights and decorated homes around Berkeley Lake and the greenway. This is not a speed hike, nor is it for those unwilling to hike in the dark or on the greenway! We will be stopping several times to take pictures.

This is a 5 +/- urban hike mainly on paved streets (Some sections have sidewalks and there is a one mile greenway forest loop trail - will need a flash light) with a small amount of local neighborhood car traffic. There are several uphills and our pace will be casual to moderate.  We will be hiking in the dark against traffic.

We will hike once around the lake's perimeter and greenway starting and finishing at Berkeley Lake City Hall parking lot across the street from Lake Berkely Chapel. You can't miss it!

*** Important Reminder ***

Please make sure to wear a headlamp or carry a flashlight, and wear reflective or bright clothing - you want to be seen by drivers! There is some local neighborhood road traffic, but generally very light. You are responsible for your own safety, so let’s make sure we stay safe and don’t get lost in the dark and end up in the North Pole! 

Friendly dogs (On leash) and reindeer permitted on hike.

Event finishing time and route we take can fluctuate and dependent on the group hiking speed and other circumstances, so please be flexible.  If you're not willing to hike in the dark and/or stay with the group, this may not be the event for you.

1. From 285, take GA 141 N (Peachtree Industrial Blvd)

2. Take left turn on South Berkeley Rd NW
