Itinerary:

Join us for a mid-morning hike around the Sawnee Mountain Preserve.  We will hike a figure 8 along gently rolling hills with two steeper short inclines. This hike will follow along the Hilltop, Mountainside, and Ridgeline Loop and not go up to the Indian Seats.

We will hike at an average 2.5-mile/hour pace to keep this hike at 2.5 hours. There will be a few water stops along the way, as needed. If you have hiked D2s in the past and feel ready for elevation, this is the hike for you. The mileage is 6.0, but the hike is a D3 due to the 1,000+ elevation gain.  The trails have some rocks and roots, so that trekking poles may be helpful.

Please arrive a few minutes early to use the restroom and do our introductions, as we will leave on time. We will meet near the restrooms at the end of the parking lot.

Dogs are not allowed on these trails.

NOTE..... there are two parking lots on Bettis Tribble Gap. We are meeting at the newer parking lot at 2505 Bettis Tribble Gap Road, the larger of the two parking lots.
