Itinerary:

Greetings AOC hikers!

Please join me for a scenic post-Valentine's Day hike at West Palisades...and burn off all that chocolate candy! We will hike at a moderate pace.

This trail is a popular Atlanta Outdoor Club destination because it offers so much variety in this 5-mile hike including scenic views of the Chattahoochee River, a sandy beach area, clear views of the cliffs at East Palisades, and some hilly trails inside the wooded area.

If you like to spot wildlife, then be prepared to possibly see heron, geese, or even deer during this hike.

Also - be prepared to hike up a few hills, as we will tackle some elevation changes. We will total about 735 feet in elevation over the five mile hike. Some of this terrain will be rocky and technical in spots.

This area, like all CRNRA units, requires a $5 daily parking fee unless you have an annual $40 pass.

After the hike, there is an option to meet for coffee at Starbucks at the corner of New Northside Drive and Powers Ferry Road. It is about an 8 minute drive from the park.
