Itinerary:

We will start by going over Big Kennesaw and Little Kennesaw and then continuing to Pigeon Hill. When the trail splits just before Burnt Hickory, we will take the red loop around to the left, following the Brumby Trail back to the visitor's center.

This is not a beginner's hike due to the elevation gains, and the fast pace, and the rocky terrain. We will be averaging about 3.0 mph, so you need to be able to maintain a solid pace with minimal breaks going up Big and Little Kennesaw in order to keep up with the group.  You should have recent strong D2 or D3 experience to participate in this hike.  I generally run parts of this trail over the mountains because I am more cautious on the rocky parts.  I will stop at Burnt Hickory (just before that funky wooden stair ramp) and regroup (if need be).

We will stop only briefly for hydration.

Please note that Kennesaw requires a $5 Daily Pass or a $40 Annual Pass, which can be purchased in the visitor's center, at an automated machine in the parking lot, or online. America the Beautiful National Parks Passes also can be used at Kennesaw.

Bathrooms and water fountains are available in the visitor's center.    Please arrive early to meet, use restrooms and extra time if you need to purchase a parking pass.

IF YOU SIGN UP AND I DON'T SEE THAT YOU ARE ACTIVE IN FAST PACED HIKES, I WILL MOVE YOU TO THE WAITLIST.
