Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:
Let's do an urban hike through the City of Decatur.  I'll make the hike up as we go along.  You can expect to see the cemetery...it's the oldest organized cemetery in the Atlanta area.  We'll also hike through some of the bungalow neighborhoods, swing by the library, the square, and with little arm twisting we'll spend 1/2 hour at the Brick Store - this part is optional - but if you should sign up - understand that the official hike ends at the store and I will walk whomever is ready after the 1/2 hour - back to the Avondale Station - to your vehicle.  Please act responsibly.

This is an explorer hike - that means - there is not a set trail - I'll just work my way through the city and neighborhoods.  I'm going to guess that the total distance will be approximately four to five miles.

The pace will be moderate, approximately 3 mph.

Required Items to Bring:
Water, sense of exploration, plus some money and your ID for the Brick Store.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Let's meet at the Avondale MARTA Station.  That's at the intersection of Sycamore St/Dr and East Ponce de Leon.  Please park in the lot (it's free) - all the way to the back - off of the side lot.

Notes:
Event will be cancelled if there is a thunderstorm/lightening.
